Skills Transfer

I am a great believer in sharing skills and knowledge and having the confidence to pass them onto others unreservedly. I have been lucky to both develop and deliver projects and activities that encourage this type of sharing.

I enjoy developing hand skills with young people - learning the properties of different materials and tools and how to handle them.  I like to collaborate and to develop the skills that it brings (team working, problem solving, identifying strengths etc). I enjoy working groups to make large scale work together and challenging perceptions of what the group can acheive. I also enjoy sharing my experience of arts management and development and helping people develop careers in the arts.

I also value sharing the business skills that are a vital part of a Creative Producer's role, including fundraising, evaluation, project management techniques, community engagement strategies, artist liaison and collaborative approaches.

Recent projects include:

Revelation (Marketing Consultant)

Training and mentoring staff in developing and managing a marketing strategy for a venue hosting up to 40 events a year, and in specific areas of marketing and communications including: social media campaign planning, writing press releases, managing donors and membership schemes, time management and prioritising.

Glow Wild (Wakehurst Place and Same Sky)

Working with the staff team each year to develop their lantern construction skills and develop their stock of sculptures for this annual event.

Evolving in Conversation (Jubilee Library, Photoworks, New Writing South, South East Dance)

Mentoring staff to develop a more entrepreneurial approach to project management, strategic planning skills and a social media strategy.
